Random Pictures in the City of Busan

Popular area in Pusan National University.

Just a short walk above my apartment building. Photograph compliments of Denis.

This is a better view of Busan's size, yet it's still much larger. Look closely, there's a slight view of the ocean in the background.

Shoot, which way again?

This is Haeundae Beach, Korea's most popular beach. It gets significantly more crowded than this! I have Denis Desjardins to thank for this photograph.

Traditional Tea Making Trip

Sorry, no action photos of parching the tea leaves. Although Minhee, who I met on this trip, was kind enough to email these pictures.

After making traditional Korean tea, we stopped by a famous place in Hadong. This location displays a large nobleman's house that was used for a TV series. The photo you see above was taken next to the nobleman's house. It represents some of the housing structures of long ago.

I'm proud wearing my jeong ja gwan. I couldn't possibly have said "no" to the the friendly old man who was selling it. Besides, it looks so darn good on me!

Apartment Building I Reside- Daehun Art Room

Thanks for these photos Denis! I'm on the 8th of 14 floors.
Count from the right, inwards to the 4th window. Then, work your way down from the 14th floor. That's where I live!

Saha is the Area I Live In

With 4 million people in Busan, this is only a fraction of this city. I'm basically on the outskirts of town. The first four photos are compliments of Denis Desjardins. Unfortunately, they were taken on an overcast day.Taken from a lower elevation on Seunghak Mountain. The apartment building hides below. Taken from the 8th floor looking east.
This photo captures Seunghak Mountain, which lies to the northwest. There's actually two Buddhist temples in this picture.
Viewing southwest.
Peering back towards the apartment building, prior to a hike.
A trail head starts about 5 minutes from the apartment. This particular route starts with an urban ascent.

Yeah, I Made it to Korea!

This photo was taken by Justin Carpenter at the top of Suraksan in Seoul. We reached the hike by taking one of the subway lines to the very end. Once exiting the station, you then have to find the trail head.

Leaving The U.S....

This is all I brought over with me. Realistically, I don't own much more than this. I've never felt so liberated!
