In Town

These are all photos taken in the town of Seogwipo.

When the Korean team played in the World Cup, the games were displayed on a few big screens in the local stadium.

There are 4 main islands off the coast of Seogwipo & they all can look quite similiar.

Shrimp boats taking a break in the harbor.

Sojeongbang Water Fall

This weathered Buddha statue is hidden in a cave on the coast.

I couldn't see inside this rock outcrop, but from the outside, it appeared to be an old bee hive. I was putting my hand & camera inside to take pictures. When viewing the photos later, I learned this wasn't an old hive!

Coast of Seogwipo

At first, I thought these shells were tightly packed pebbles. Pretty amazing how closely gathered some of these snails have manuevered themselves into!

As of a week ago, we had a local soccer team. They have now relocated to the northern city of the island. On game day, they used to put uniforms on the dolharubang figures.

I caught this fella out causing trouble.

Looking out a coffee shop window on a snowy day.

Venturing to a hidden park, Sokongwon, with my friend.

A warm greeting at Sokongwon.

I just liked how the sun hit a spider's artwork. Expand this photo for a closer view!

The palm & cacti are lit from the evening sun.

A beautiful day coming to an end...

Some Different Food?

Many of you may not particularly agree with this section. In fact, some natives don't approve of a couple of these dishes either.

This is the meat pile we'll throw on the BBQ. The grill sits in the middle of the table where we can easily pick at it. This meat happens to be marinated pork.

Another BBQ, but with different pork cuts.

BBQ eel that is freshly chopped & still squirming when brought to the table. It still moves for a bit when you first put it on the grill as well, which is why the eel isn't perfectly focused.

This is horse meat shabu shabu. You cook the thinly sliced meat by dipping it in the boiling vegetable soup.

This was a pheasant feast! We had pheasant meat balls, shabu shabu, raw cuts, & more.

Dog soup is apparently good for mens' stamina.
